New expansion with GEICO and long-term lease with global fitness brand Barry’s secure full lease-up at Bethesda’s trophy office destination
Carr Properties, a leading owner, operator, and developer of premium office and residential properties, today announced that The Wilson, its signature trophy office project in downtown Bethesda, is now fully leased. This milestone follows Carr’s signing of two new long-term leases: GEICO, which signed a 21,000-square-foot expansion lease on an additional floor, and Barry’s, the original cardio and strength boutique fitness studio, which signed a 4,060-square-foot retail lease at the ground floor of the building.
“The Wilson having achieved this fully leased milestone affirms our long-term vision for creating thoughtfully designed, experience-driven environments where our customers can thrive,” said Oliver Carr, CEO of Carr Properties. “We are proud that The Wilson has become a destination of choice for top-tier organizations seeking dynamic, walkable, amenity-rich work locations.”
GEICO, which currently leases 100,000 square feet across five floors of the building, has expanded its total footprint to 121,000 square feet with the addition of a sixth floor lease.
Barry’s new retail space at The Wilson marks the globally recognized fitness brand’s first Maryland location. The new studio will bring Barry’s signature Red Room experience to The Wilson customers and the surrounding community alike.
Both lease announcements underscore The Wilson’s enduring appeal as one of Bethesda’s most coveted office destinations, combining best-in-class workspace and amenities with vibrant ground-floor retail, which continues to attract top-tier organizations across a diverse array of sectors.
Located steps from the Metro at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Elm Street, The Wilson is a 348,000-square-foot landmark development designed to integrate seamlessly with Bethesda’s thriving retail and dining community. Offering thoughtfully designed workspaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, rooftop terrace, and green spaces in the heart of Bethesda, The Wilson provides customers with an energizing environment for both work and wellness.
GEICO and Barry’s join existing office customers at The Wilson that include FOX 5 DC, ProShares, UBS Group, and Walker & Dunlop, and retail customers such as Tatte Bakery & Cafe.
