Midtown Center Wins Urban Land Institute Award: Carr Properties Recognized for Excellence in Office Development

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) awarded Carr Properties the ULI 2019 Excellence in Office Development Award for Midtown Center, located at 1100 15th Street, NW in Washington, D.C. The winners were announced at the ULI Washington Real Estate Trends Conference held in the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 2019.

Commenting on the award, Carr Properties CEO Oliver Carr said, “We are honored to be recognized by ULI for Midtown Center. We designed Midtown to not only be an outstanding office building with best-in-class amenities but also a welcoming public space with close to 50,000 SF of dynamic street retail. We want to thank our project partners, Clark Construction, Shop Architects, WDG Architecture, and SCAPE Landscape Architects for their creative execution.”

The 868,000 SF building sets a new standard for first-class offices in Washington, D.C. where customers and the public can enjoy a vibrant park-like environment and highly-curated retail. The lineup of retail includes the recently-opened Blue Bottle Coffee and an array of high-end restaurants opening later this year including, Dauphine’s, a New Orleans style restaurant; Shōtō and Akēdo a Japanese concept by renowned restaurateur Arjun Waney; and Philotimo, a Greek concept by Michelin Star Chef Nicholas Stefanelli.

ULI Washington identifies and promotes best practices in all types of real estate development, recognizing the most innovative and creative thinking in the categories of Excellence in Adaptive Reuse, Excellence in Affordable Housing, Excellence in Mixed-Use Development, Excellence in Office Development, and Excellence in Residential Development categories.
