Showing: 6 Announcements
The contractor was not able to start the utility work in N. Garfield and N. Highland Street in the month of May but is currently targeting that work for the middle of June.
In preparation for the utility work, tree protection will be installed on the west side of N. Highland Street.
We would like to inform you that our demolition subcontractor is planning to shut down N Garfield St, weather permitting, on Saturday May 16th to erect a mobile crane. This crane will primarily serve to take down equipment from the rooftop of the existing building that weekend.
We will be shutting down N. Garfield adjacent to our site. Approximately from Wilson Blvd to the end of our property. Access to/from N. Garfield St. will be limited to the northside, from Franklin Rd. See attached map for the approximate location of the crane on N. Garfield Street.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding with this activity.
2026-05-16 Mobile Crane Set Up
There is utility work in both N. Garfield and N. Highland Street which is planned to start in the next month. Further details will be made available as that work gets closer.
The general contractor, John Moriarty and Associates of Virginia, will be mobilizing to the site over the next week.
What to Expect:
The soft strip is projected to last 4 to 6 weeks. The bulk façade demo is currently scheduled to begin in late April with the above grade structural demo following in late May / early June 2026 and running through September 2026.
The Site Plan Conditions provide working hours of 7am – 9pm weekdays and 9am – 9pm weekends and holidays. At this time, the typical shift will be 7:00am to 3:30pm weekdays.
Project updates will be posted to a web page starting in April.
Please find the attached Arlington County approved MOT for the demolition phase of the project. Per our last meeting, we communicated that the project would be starting on 3/16/2026, but it is currently trending toward the last week of March, at which time you can expect to see the construction fence installed.
